Case Study: Temporary Water Supply for a Retirement Home During Building Works in Surrey
The Challenge
A retirement home in Surrey was undergoing building extension works that interfered with the existing mains water supply. Due to the nature of the site, maintaining a reliable and safe water supply was critical to protect residents, staff and essential care services.
The works meant the mains supply could not be relied upon for several days. A temporary solution was required to provide continuous, quality-assured water to multiple areas of the home until the permanent connection could be restored.
Our Solution
Temporary Water Solutions (TWS) designed and installed a temporary water system tailored to the needs of a live residential care environment.
We installed four 10,000-litre WRAS-approved Enduramaxx static water tanks on site to provide sufficient storage capacity. To maintain consistent pressure and supply across the building, three Ebara on-demand water pumps were installed, each feeding different areas of the home.
The tanks were replenished daily using TWS stainless steel water tankers over a four-day period. This ensured a continuous supply of wholesome water while building works were completed and the mains connection reinstated.
The Result
The retirement home maintained full water supply throughout the construction works with no disruption to residents or care services. Once the mains supply was reconnected, the temporary system was safely decommissioned.
